At integris cancer center today getting my white blood cell injection and iv fluids. I experienced some tightness in my throat and heaviness in the chest. My blood pressure was elevated so they had to give me an injection to calm my nerves I’m feeling horrible with a headache, stomach pain and all over deep body aches. Please keep me in your prayers, for a quick recovery from these side effects and strength for my body. 🩷🙏🏻

Love you, Carolyn 🩷

I would like to thank everyone at Breast Cancer Survivors Oklahoma & Lakeview Ridge, I was really looking forward to spending the weekend at the cabin, but I didn't expect the gifts that were waiting for me. I felt so special, I cried happy tears. I have stage 4 Triple Negative Breast Cancer, and I have been fighting for over 7 years now. I've had 11 different chemos, 291 doses of chemo, 92 radiation treatments, and everything that goes along with that. The last two years have been especially hard and trips to MD Anderson have added an extra strain to our schedules. The Lakeview Ridge Cabins were so nice, and we had so much fun, putting our crazy schedules aside, checking out some Route 66 attractions, playing cards and board games on the back porch, going on a walk around the property and down to the lake. My current chemo is presenting challenges, my immune system is so low I have to avoid crowds and it limits what I can do. This trip really gave me a renewed interest in getting out and experiencing more of life again, it reminded me that even if I can't go everywhere I would like to, there are plenty of places I can go and experience nature.

Beautiful words from a beautiful breast cancer warrior. Let's hear from Rose today.

Breast cancer tried twice to take me down. it almost did the first time. second time God and I looked it in the face and said not yet, not today. go away. I am an ordinary woman with the incredible strength of God in me. If you have just been diagnosed, or are going through treatment and feel like it's hope less...hope more. hang on. love God. seek your strength from him, you will be amazed...I know I was. I accepted help from some I hardly knew, and some I knew very well. ego and pride was asked to take a walk, I had more important things to do. Cancer did not take my friends. Cancer did not take my faith. Cancer did not take any Love away from me. on the contrary, it increased all of those things. I am better for it. I am hope full. and Grateful for my life. This is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Check yourself before cancer does. if you are over due for a mammogram what are you waiting for? It is a matter of life and death. to anyone that is reading this, I love you.
