A reminder from the lovely Crissy ~

Today was my 6 month checkup and mammogram.
The weeks leading up to this appointment have been heavy. I have had some new symptoms that sent my mind into overdrive. I carried those questions around like a secret in my pocket, waiting for the moment I could finally sit in front of my doctor and say, “Okay… what is this?”

That waiting is its own kind of stress.
You try to stay logical.
You try to stay calm.
But when you have heard the word cancer before, your brain does not play gently.

Survivorship is not just about finishing treatment. It is about living in between appointments. It is about managing the quiet fear that tries to creep in when your body feels different.

So this is your reminder:
Please do not skip your mammogram. Do not put it off. Do not let busy schedules or fear talk you out of it. Early detection matters. Peace of mind matters. Your life matters.

Today I get to breathe a little easier. I am grateful. Relieved. A little emotional. And very aware that this journey doesn’t just end when treatment does.
