The OU College of Allied Health was proud to welcome Dr. Lynne Davis, Dean of Health Sciences at Massachusetts Bay Community College and Allied Health Radiologic Technology alumna, for an inspiring presentation on the life-changing value of mentorship.

Dr. Davis reminded us how mentorship extends beyond formal relationships — emerging in collaboration, care, and everyday moments that shape both personal and professional growth in this generation and the next.

Thank you, Dr. Davis, for inspiring us to recognize the mentors in our own lives and to become that source of encouragement for others. ❤️

Beaming with Sooner pride for not one, not two, but THREE of our fantastic OU MIRS Radiography seniors! 🎉

❤️ The Betty Wunder Memorial Foundation continues the legacy of Betty Wunder, a pioneering radiographer who helped bring the first MRI machine to Oklahoma, advocated for pediatric radiation safety, and left a lasting impact at OU Children’s Hospital.

All three OU applicants that applied were recipients of this year’s Betty Wunder Memorial Foundation Scholarships! These outstanding students were recognized during the Annual Radiologic Technology Seminar & Expo on November 6 at the OU Health Campus in Nicholson Tower, coinciding with National Radiologic Technology Week.

This scholarship has a highly competitive statewide selection process, so we could not be more proud of these hardworking seniors that will no doubt carry on the Betty Wunder Legacy 💪

🩻 On November 8, 1895, Wilhelm Roentgen discovered X-rays — a breakthrough that transformed modern medicine.

To mark the occasion, our OU MIRS Department joined the 3rd Annual Rad Dash 5K, a nationwide event hosted by the American Society of Radiologic Technology (ASRT).

👟 Their team, the "rOUd runners", laced up at Wheeler Park and ran along the river as part of the virtual 5K, celebrating innovation, teamwork, and the power of imaging in modern medicine!

☀️ Your daily reminder that caring for others starts with caring for yourself 🫶

During Allied Health Week last week, we celebrated the heart of healthcare — our allied health professionals, students, and educators who make a difference every day. 💪

OT kicked off the week with free fidget toys and Therapy Dog Maggie came out to visit! As the year winds down, remember that you deserve the same compassion and support you give to your patients and peers.

So give yourself that break in the Atrium, take a deep breath, recharge, and keep shining your light in healthcare! ❤️

🍎 ✏️ Shoutout to our amazing SLP fam here at OU Allied Health!

In honor of AAC Awareness Month, iLEAP hosted AAC specialist, Camber Moulton, MS, CCC-SLP with PRC-Saltillo, who presented an AAC workshop for the SLP graduate students! Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) helps people who cannot rely on their natural speech to communicate.

🧠 Our students gained practical knowledge that they will apply to the children in iLEAP that they work with. Thank you for your invaluable insight, Camber Moulton!

👟🏅This year's Rehab Sciences clinic facilitated by OT and PT students at the Tulsa Run was a HUGE SUCCESS!

Physical therapy faculty and students from the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at OU Health Campus provided post-run care consisting of soft tissue manual therapy, which included muscle stretching and myofascial release. 💪

❤️‍🩹 Volunteers also educated runners in exercises and activities to optimize their recovery and promote ongoing wellness!

These amazing student and staff volunteers are preparing to do it all again for the upcoming Route 66 run, so make sure to look out for them after the finish line!

About the College of Allied Health

In 1967, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education authorized the College of Allied Health. The College was activated in February 1970 to consolidate and coordinate existing programs on the OU Health Sciences Center campus and to further develop programs to meet allied health resource needs in Oklahoma. It serves as the academic unit for eleven diverse health science professions, post professional, and graduate degree programs. Its professional-entry educational programs prepare students to join a multidisciplinary health care delivery system focused on the well being of citizens of Oklahoma. Four of the eleven professional entry programs are the only programs in Oklahoma: Audiology, Nuclear Medicine, Occupational Therapy, and Radiation Therapy. College pass rate on professional entry Boards/Licensure examinations in the eleven professional-entry programs is 94.3%. Through its graduate programs, the College prepares future leadership, faculty, advanced practice clinicians, and researchers for the professions and Oklahoma.

The College is authorized to offer twenty-one programs: eight baccalaureate, twelve at the master or doctoral level, and one certificate program. Diagnosis of disease and disorders, wellness and prevention, therapeutic and rehabilitative services, health care administration, and allied health professions education encompass the spectrum of professional programs in the College of Allied Health. Faculty offer continuing education programs for practitioners in Oklahoma and region, and faculty development seminars for clinicians involved with professional-entry programs in the College. The College extended its accredited professional-entry programs in Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy to the OU branch campus in Tulsa in 1998. In 2002, the College offered OU's first web-based graduate degree program in Rehabilitation Sciences and in 2003 its first post-professional web-based undergraduate degree program in Radiation Sciences. The professional-entry accredited program in Sonography was extended to the OU-Tulsa campus in Fall 2006 and from Fall 2007-Spring 2017, the professional-entry accredited program in Radiography was extended to the OU-Tulsa campus.
