Punishment may stop behavior in the moment, but it doesn’t teach regulation, coping, or problem-solving. Support does. Skills do.

Accountability still matters — and it looks like teaching, repairing, and guiding, not punishing someone for struggling.

What many of these every-day activities do for your child…

Activities like these can help kids in a number of different ways when it comes to foundational development. Building foundational skills can support a child’s higher level of learning and aids the brain in developing neural connections.

When this happens, learning becomes automatic without the child having to struggle or without them having to put in large amounts of mental effort to keep up with the other kids.

Providing more opportunities like these can help kids do the following:

🤾Strengthens fine motor for writing and letter directionality
🤾Build proprioception and vestibular input for attention and focus
🤾Creates more impulse control
🤾Develops executive function
