Closing Time
It is with my greatest appreciation that I announce, A.N.A. Custom Millwork will no longer be serving the woodworking industry.
My daughter recently played her last softball game after a 15 year career.
She so eloquently said what needed to be said…
And walked away on her own terms to pursue veterinarian school.
“I truly feel so much joy not because it’s over, but because it happened.”
- Kendall Beres
…..
Her words speak to me as I wind down this machine that took 18 years to build…
And what will take a few short months to dismantle.
The countdown to how many times I get to walk this quiet shop floor settled in saw dust has begun.
If I silence myself enough…
I can hear the people…
Over the disappointment of machines that no longer run.
…..
I can hear the ones that came years before this floor had tools.
Every employee laying building blocks to move us forward.
- Thank you.
I can hear the builders.
Sharing their vision and counting on us to see it through.
Believing we could fit a mold that was always meant to be broken.
- Thank you.
I can hear the owners.
High end residences.
Up scale businesses.
I learned that money never makes a person…
Good was in the goodness of believing we found the fit we were looking for.
- Thank you.
…..
I know there may be some questions… so I’ll answer what I can.
The simple question is:
“What happened?”
The complicated answer is:
- What didn’t happen.
“Where will you go?”
- Where won’t I go.
“What will you do?”
- What won’t I do.
“How will you do it?”
- With love and appreciation.
…..
There are no words to describe what it’s like to turn off the lights for last time.
There’s joy.
There’s sadness.
There’s everything all at once.
I will say this though…
I was never alone along the way.
And the next chapter is filled with exceptionally good company.
If you have a moment, look through the pictures.
I’ve been told…
Pictures are worth a thousand words.
- Thank you!!!
