Rich Rasmussen, president and CEO of the Oklahoma Hospital Association, joined Bobby Stitt, chief administrative officer of Mercy Hospital Ada; and Oklahoma State Medical Association President Sumit Nanda, MD for a discussion hosted by KGOU.

The event focused on Medicaid cuts and how those cuts could affect hospitals, other health care providers, and patients in Oklahoma.

OHA congratulates Rep. Preston Stinson and Sen. Brent Howard on receiving the OHA Outstanding Achievement Award. Their leadership and dedication to protecting healthcare access for Oklahomans especially their strong support for the federal 340B program have made a meaningful impact across the state.

Rep. Stinson, who represents District 96 and serves as chair of the House Appropriations & Budget Subcommittee on Public Health, has demonstrated steadfast commitment to strengthening the healthcare workforce, improving access to care, and ensuring accountability in public spending. His pragmatic approach continues to advance healthcare for all Oklahomans.

Sen. Howard, representing District 38, has been a champion for patients and caregivers in southwest Oklahoma. As chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee and vice chair of the Senate Subcommittee for Appropriations and Budget for Public Safety and the Judiciary, he has worked to ensure local hospitals and communities are prioritized over out-of-state special interests.

OHA congratulates Kevin Gross, LFACHE, on receiving the OHA Award of Merit. Gross retired in July 2025 as president of Oklahoma operations for the Hillcrest HealthCare System, overseeing 85 facilities across northeast Oklahoma and Tulsa. With more than 35 years of experience in healthcare leadership, he has consistently supported OHA’s advocacy efforts, contributed to OHA-PAC, and helped shape programs improving access to care. Gross has previously received the OHA Advocacy in Action Award twice and the W. Cleveland Rodgers Distinguished Service Award, and his leadership has left a lasting impact on hospitals and communities across the state.

This accolade recognizes her outstanding leadership and steadfast commitment to advancing healthcare initiatives, including her instrumental role in the passage of OHA’s 340B legislation during the 2025 state legislative session. Her efforts have helped protect vital patient programs and positively impacted healthcare access across the state.

OHA congratulates Roger Knak on receiving the W. Cleveland Rodgers Distinguished Service Award. Knak served as CEO of Fairview Regional Medical Center and Russell Regional Hospital, bringing decades of healthcare leadership to Oklahoma. He began his career as a professional firefighter paramedic and transitioned into hospital nursing and administration. Known for his advocacy for rural hospitals, Knak has been active on multiple OHA councils, including the Rural Health Council, the Council on Policy and Legislation, and the Council on Finance & Strategic Information Services.
