Congratulations to Dr. Rhett Jackson who was recently elected to "Mastership" by the American College of Physicians (ACP).

Dr. Jackson is the David Ross Boyd Professor of Medicine Section Chief of General Internal Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, OK.

Election to Mastership recognizes outstanding and extraordinary career accomplishments and achievements, including the practice of internal medicine, academic contributions to our specialty, and service to the College. During review of candidates, the ACP’s Awards Committee considers several qualities, including strength of character, perseverance, leadership, compassion and devotion. Clinical expertise and commitment to advancing the art and science of medicine are also taken into account by the committee.

This year’s theme is “Quality & Policy in Internal Medicine.” Meeting highlights include ACP policy updates, Oklahoma Medicaid expansion update, topics on High Value Care, updates on COVID-19, diagnostic errors in telehealth and EHR, implicit biases in the medical profession, and resident/fellow oral presentations.
