Tammy Onafowokan is a Nurse Practitioner at the Oklahoma Proton Center who brings a deep background in oncology and a calm, steady presence to every patient.
Tammy started their career in 2018 as an RN in medical oncology, supporting patients through chemotherapy and immunotherapy at a small clinic in Florida. After several years on the medical oncology side, Tammy became a Nurse Practitioner and transitioned into radiation oncology. Tammy has now been part of the Oklahoma Proton Center team for about three years.
On a typical day, Tammy meets with patients, who are in treatment, to check in on how they are feeling, help with medications and symptom support, and make sure each person can stay on track with care. Tammy also supports new consults and follow-up visits for patients who have completed treatment. Tammy especially values patient education and the time our team can spend helping people move from anxiety to confidence.
Tammy describes the clinic as a true family and loves the kindness of the Oklahoma community. Outside of work, Tammy loves baking cakes, playing a Wallyball, a fast-paced version of volleyball, and spending time with family, including a little one who is almost two.
We are grateful to have Tammy on our team. Thank you for the care, compassion, and expertise you bring to every patient.
