Sooner Solutions Behavioral Health would like to introduce one of our Oklahoma City Nurse Practitioners, Jennifer Amato.

Jennifer Amato, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC

I’m a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 20 years of experience in healthcare and a strong passion for helping individuals through every stage of life. I’m a proud third-generation nurse — my journey in healthcare began in 2004 as a Certified Nursing Assistant on an inpatient traumatic brain injury rehabilitation unit. I later worked as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient liver transplant and hepatobiliary surgical clinic, which gave me early insight into the resilience of the human body and spirit.

In 2014, I earned my Associate in Applied Science in Nursing from Rose State College. As a Registered Nurse, I worked in a variety of clinical settings including inpatient neurology/telemetry, hospice, and dialysis. These experiences gave me a deep appreciation for the physical and emotional complexities that patients and families navigate every day.

I later completed the ADN-to-MSN program at Frontier Nursing University and graduated with my Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in psychiatric-mental health in 2021.

I currently provide care for children, adolescents, and adults ages 5 and up. My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and compassionate. I believe in meeting clients where they are and offer supportive and integrative interventions.

I’m originally from Choctaw, Oklahoma, and have been a proud military spouse since 2012. My husband and I have two young children and two dogs — Lucy the labradoodle and Charlie the pit bull. When I’m not in the clinic, I enjoy bowling on league night, scary movies, hosting murder mystery parties, and spending time with family and friends.
