Trick or Treat Night was a success! Thank you to all of those who donated candy throughout the past month, we had a great turnout! We had lots of dressed up kiddos who came and got candy and played games! We also raffled off 2 Halloween Boo baskets and most importantly our residents had a BLAST handing out candy and seeing all the wonderful costume creations! 🎃😊🕷🕸👻🍬

Fall prevention week was a success! We kicked off the week with a "No Fall Festival", which featured bobbing for pumpkins with a reach tool, fall prevention trivia, fall prevention worksheets, sugar free cake walk, and even a wheelchair/walker inspection station! Throughout the week we did varying Life Works groups that centered around educating residents on how to prevent falls! RehabPro and the Wellness department worked together to make last week a success! 💙🎉

Our favorite groups are always the food groups! Not only did we learn about the fabulous benefits that whole grains provide for our bodies, but we also made some delicious whole grain apple cinnamon energy bites! Yum!! 🍎🥧

"Kenneth had some kind of episode that caused him to lose his motor functions. We spent time in the hospital then time at PAM- then Accel- then more time in the hospital and then back to Accel. He has been away from home for 4 months. We are so ready for him to come home.

I don’t think that would happen if not for Accel. The people here have been so helpful and caring. The physical therapy is awesome. Jimmy and Jacob are wonderful with Kenneth. They have shown me lots of ways to help him. They have taught him how to achieve his goals. He is not back to his old self, but he can function.
All the nurses are great. I love Lynette, she has been one of my best friends. She cares and tries to meet his needs in a timely manner. Victoria was great too! All the nurses were good. I have no bad comments.
The aids and housekeeping staff are great. His room was always clean. The aids absolutely earn their pay. Kenneth had a feeding tube, so we never experienced the food, but it always sounded good.

We really liked Dr. Johanna. She is an early riser. When she came in and I wasn’t there she would have Kenneth call me, so I could hear and ask questions. We think she is good Dr. She was very thorough and followed up on all her orders. She is a real sweetheart. If she is your doctor, I think you are lucky!

I can’t forget Diana and Jake, they are great – friendly, helpful, fun and sweet and so are all the others that greet people when they come in. My only suggestion is a way to get someone fast in case of an emergency. I don’t know how to achieve that without it being abused. We have had a good experience here. WE would recommend Accel to anyone looking for a skilled nursing center."

Throwback Thursday! This morning at Accel, the wellness and rehab teams worked together and held a Jazzercise group! We rocked out to 80's jams and got our exercise on! 🏋️‍♂️💪🎶

We are diving into all thing's wellness this week in honor of senior citizen day! Our 'Aloha Summer!' day was a blast! We kicked off the morning with some group therapy with help with our amazing rehab pro team. Residents participated in Beach volleyball, beachball basketball, and beachball golf, then we cooled down with some popsicles afterwards. Later in the afternoon residents helped themselves to a tasty lemonade bar and some Staff vs Resident Jeopardy! Go Team Wellness! 🎉☀️🌴🏐🍦

We enjoyed all the July 4th activities last week! The residents made edible American flags, played some American themed jeopardy, and enjoyed some typical backyard 4th of July snacks during our 4th of July social! ❤️🤍💙
