Calm Waters đź’™'s Oklahoma City Public Schools!

Our Program Director, Bailey Maxey, spent Friday morning at Fillmore Elementary reading "The Rabbit Listened" as part of the Read Across OKCPS initiative.

This story reminds us that sometimes the best way to comfort someone is simply to be present and listen. It’s a great way to start conversations about empathy, grief, and emotions with children and adults alike.

Today, our Clinical Director, Heather Gaglio (LMFT), led a su***de prevention presentation to INTEGRIS Health physicians as part of the Monthly Resident Grand Rounds.

An estimated 1 in 15 physicians experiences suicidal thoughts. Awareness saves lives, and we are grateful for the opportunity to support health care providers in su***de prevention.

We’re honored to see our curriculum supporting the incredible work happening at Wings. Grief is such a personal journey, and we’re grateful to partner with organizations committed to creating safe, compassionate spaces for healing. Together, we’re helping more people find hope and connection as they navigate loss.

We are proud to spotlight Grief Support, one of our newest programs designed to walk alongside Members who have chosen to work through personal grief. In this program, Members are given meaningful tools to cope, process their emotions, find hope, and move forward with strength.

We have thoughtfully adapted curriculum from to best serve our Members, ensuring the support they receive is compassionate, accessible, and tailored to their needs.

Grief looks different for everyone, and at Wings the door is always open for our Members to face their hurt in a safe, supportive community. Here, healing happens together.🩵

Our CEO, Trisha Koelsch, stopped by News 9 earlier this week to discuss an incredibly important topic: how serious headlines can impact children and what parents can do to support them.
During the segment, she shared practical guidance on helping kids navigate big emotions, keeping conversations age‑appropriate, and making sure children feel seen, heard, and reassured.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to help families strengthen communication and emotional well‑being. Catch the full discussion here:

Serious news can be difficult for children to process, which is why experts from Calm Waters recommend parents start open, age-appropriate conversations at home to help kids understand what they see and manage big emotions.

This special Infant Loss Support Group is open to moms and dads only. This group allows parents, in a safe and supportive group setting, to focus on unique grief issues connected to the death of an infant. In order to attend divorce support groups, children must be aware that parents are divorcing. Co-parents who were never married and going through a custody change may also attend. Divorce support groups are for ages 3 to adult. Family members are divided into age appropriate groups including children groups, teen groups, young adult and adult groups. All family members may attend or a single adult; minors cannot attend groups without a guardian present. Both parents are welcome to attend, we have at least two adult groups, therefore each co-parent may attend their own group. Consistent attendance is most beneficial for the family. Register for a divorce support group online at: https://www.calmwaters.org/calm-waters-divorce-support-group-registration-form/ For all groups, once your online registration form has been received, a Calm Waters’ staff member will contact you to schedule an intake appointment prior to the beginning of groups. The intake appointment determines group readiness and is required for all who want to attend a Calm Waters group. PARENTING THROUGH DIVORCE SEMINARS: The Calm Waters Parenting Through Divorce (PTD) seminar is offered three times each month and is a court-approved seminar. A $50 fee is required.
