Oklahoma Primary Care Association

Oklahoma Primary Care Association We aim to strengthen access to affordable, community-based care through advocacy and education.

Since opening in 1993, Oklahoma Primary Care Association's efforts to strengthen access to affordable community-based health care have resulted in unprecedented community health center (CHC) growth. To date, CHC presence has increased by almost 600% in Oklahoma with continued growth expected. Tens of thousands of Oklahomans now have access to affordable, high quality, comprehensive health care. With help from state partners, OKPCA has connected Oklahoma communities with approximately 19 million in increased annual funding since 2001.

This holiday season, OKPCA would like to recognize Oklahoma's SoonerSelect Plans Aetna Better Health OK; Humana Healthy Horizons OK; & Oklahoma Complete Health for their commitment to our mission, championing greater access to care for patients, and supporting the financial health of community health centers. The plans recently answered the call to support a local community health center through a tough financial period this season. We're thankful to have the plans, and their leaders Clay Franklin and Angie Neal; Joe Fairbanks; and Lisa Gifford as partners in strengthening Oklahoma's health outcomes.

During HIV/AIDS Awareness Month, ECO Health is here to remind our community that getting tested for HIV or any STI should never be surrounded by fear, shame, or judgment!

Too often, people believe getting tested or testing positive means someone has acted irresponsibly when that simply isn’t true.

Choosing to know your status is responsible. It’s empowering. It’s healthcare.

If you are sexually active, regular STI and HIV testing is an important part of caring for your body and protecting others.

✅ Testing is available at ALL ECO Health Medical Clinics including FREE HIV TESTING
✅ Everyone is welcome
✅ No judgment, only education, support, and compassionate care

Let’s end the stigma. Know your status. ❤️

Community health center leaders are expressing concern about potential coverage losses if Marketplace tax credits aren't extended soon. Morton CEO Susan Savage told News on 6 that fewer people with coverage could mean more untreated illness, delayed care, and increased strain on health centers and hospitals.

The enhanced Affordable Care Act tax credits are set to expire at the end of the month, and experts say that could lead to a 30% increase in health insurance premiums for Oklahomans.
