🌿 Pregnancy Body Affirmations

Because growing a human is not always glamorous, it’s sacred, powerful, and real.

My body is not “out of control”, it is deeply wise and doing exactly what it was made to do.

I can love this version of me, even as I change, soften, swell, and stretch.

Every curve and new line is a sign of life unfolding-not something to fix, but something to honor.

I release the idea of “bouncing back.” I am not going backward, I am growing forward.

My worth is not measured by a number, a photo, or a size. It is measured by the love and life I am carrying.

I trust my body. I thank my body. I give my body grace.

I am allowed to feel beautiful, uncomfortable, grateful, and overwhelmed, all at the same time.

Sometimes strength looks like roaring a baby into the world with every contraction.

And sometimes, strength looks like surrender.

A few months ago, this brave mama labored with everything she had-heart, body, and soul, through a long and complicated journey. When the path to meet her baby shifted, she did the hardest, most powerful thing: she trusted her body, her baby, and the care she received.

With grace and courage, she brought her beautiful baby boy earthside through a medically necessary cesarean birth.

Midwife and author Ina May Gaskin famously says "Let your monkey do it", in regard to letting the most primal parts of yourself lead in labor, letting go of the manmade noise and desire to be in control.

Ways to help let your "monkey" lead:

-Stop or limit scrolling on social media weeks before the birth (the input weighs heavily on us).
-Practice mindful meditation allowing uncomfortable thoughts to pass without giving them power.
-Let go of the "perfect curated birth" idea, it's more than ok to make noise, move, or feel wild even.
-Embrace your pregnant body. As is.
-Spend time outside. Connect with nature.
-If type A or naturally anxious, consider hypno style childbirth education.
-Read positive birth stories and ask family and friends to avoid sharing negative experiences.
