🤍 Supporting school-age children means supporting their whole world.

If your child is struggling with big emotions, anxiety, behavior changes, school stress, friendships, or confidence, I want you to know—you’re not alone, and neither are they. Childhood can be full of pressure, transitions, and feelings that are hard to name, let alone manage.

In my work at Your Next Right Step Therapy, I support school-age children by helping them understand their emotions, build coping skills, and feel safe expressing what’s going on inside. I also work closely with caregivers, because supporting a child often means supporting the whole family system. Therapy can be a place where your child feels seen—and where you feel supported, too.

I offer daytime hours and accept Kansas Medicaid plans (Healthy Blue, UHC, and Sunflower), as well as Aetna, Cigna, and self-pay options.

If you’ve been wondering whether therapy could help your child, it’s okay to ask questions and take things one step at a time. Reaching out doesn’t mean something is “wrong”—it means you care.

Your child doesn’t have to navigate this alone. 🤍

🌿 Anxiety can be really heavy to carry.

Sometimes it shows up as racing thoughts you can’t turn off. Sometimes it’s a tight chest, restlessness, or that constant feeling that something isn’t quite okay—even when life looks “fine” on the outside.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not broken or doing something wrong. Anxiety is often your nervous system trying to protect you, even when it’s working overtime.

At Your Next Right Step Therapy, we walk alongside people as they learn to understand their anxiety, slow things down, and find ways to feel more grounded and steady. You don’t have to have it all figured out before reaching out.

You deserve support that feels safe, compassionate, and human.
You don’t have to carry this alone. 🤍

🧠 ADHD support is about understanding—not fixing.

Living with ADHD can mean racing thoughts, difficulty focusing, emotional overwhelm, time blindness, or feeling like you’re constantly trying harder than everyone else just to keep up. These challenges are real—and they’re not a personal failure.

At Your Next Right Step Therapy, we support individuals with ADHD by helping them better understand how their brain works, build practical tools that fit their life, and reduce shame along the way. Therapy can help with organization, emotional regulation, self-compassion, and creating strategies that actually feel sustainable.

You don’t need to change who you are to deserve support.
With the right tools and understanding, life can feel more manageable—and more aligned.

🎂 Grieving on a loved one’s birthday can feel especially heavy

Today, I’m holding my own mom in my heart on her birthday. A day that once meant celebration now carries quiet memories, deep love, and the ache of missing someone whose influence I still carry with me in my daily life. The grief shows up differently on days like this—sometimes softly, sometimes all at once.

For many people, birthdays after loss can feel complicated. You might want to honor your loved one while also feeling overwhelmed by their absence. There is no right way to move through a day like this. Grief doesn’t follow a timeline—and love doesn’t end.

At Your Next Right Step Therapy, we support individuals navigating grief through milestones and meaningful dates. You don’t have to minimize your pain or “be okay” for the sake of others. There is room for remembrance, for sadness, and for gentleness toward yourself.

If today is heavy, you’re not alone.
Grief deserves compassion—especially on days that matter. 🤍

🤍 Living with chronic illness can be exhausting—physically, emotionally, and mentally.

If you’re navigating ongoing health concerns, pain, fatigue, or symptoms that don’t simply “go away,” I want you to know how real that experience is. Chronic illness often affects more than the body—it can impact identity, relationships, work, and how you move through each day.

In my work at Your Next Right Step Therapy, I support individuals living with chronic illness as they cope with uncertainty, grief, and the emotional toll of long-term health challenges. Together, we focus on finding ways to honor your limits, care for your mental health, and reconnect with parts of yourself that may feel lost or overshadowed by illness. You don’t need to stay positive or strong all the time—this is a space where honesty is welcome.

I offer daytime hours and accept Medicare, Medicare Advantage plans (Aetna, UHC), Kansas Medicaid plans (Healthy Blue, UHC, and Sunflower), UHC/Optum, Aetna, BCBS, and self-pay options.

If you’re feeling worn down, isolated, or unsure how to keep carrying everything, you’re not alone. Support can help lighten the load—even when the illness remains.

You deserve care that sees the whole of you, not just your diagnosis. 🤍

💗 Friends matter—more than we sometimes realize.

Laughter, shared memories, inside jokes, and being there for each other on hard days—friendships play a powerful role in our emotional well-being. Strong social connections help reduce stress, increase resilience, and remind us that we don’t have to face life alone.

At Your Next Right Step Therapy, we believe healing doesn’t happen in isolation. Supportive friendships can be a vital part of growth, balance, and joy—whether that looks like deep conversations, showing up for one another, or simply having fun together.

This Galentine’s season (and every season), we celebrate the friends who listen, encourage, and walk alongside us. 🤍
If you’re working on building healthier relationships or feeling more connected, therapy can help you take that next right step.

Living with both mental health challenges and substance use concerns can feel overwhelming—but you don’t have to untangle it alone.

If you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or mood changes alongside struggles with substances, I want you to know this: both matter. One doesn’t cancel out the other, and you deserve support that looks at the whole picture—not just one part of your story.

As a Licensed Addiction Counselor at Your Next Right Step Therapy, I work with individuals navigating dual diagnosis, helping them understand how mental health and substance use intersect. Together, we focus on safety, honesty, and practical tools—without shame or judgment. Healing isn’t about perfection; it’s about support, consistency, and learning new ways to cope.

I also know how hard it can be to fit therapy into real life. That’s why I offer evening and Saturday hours to better support busy schedules. I accept Kansas Medicaid plans (Healthy Blue, UHC, and Sunflower), as well as Aetna, Cigna, and self-pay options.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, discouraged, or unsure where to start, that’s okay. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

You deserve care that sees all of you. 🤍

❄️ Feeling the winter blues? You’re not alone.

Shorter days, colder weather, and less sunlight can take a real toll on mood, energy, and motivation. You might notice feeling more tired, withdrawn, unmotivated, or emotionally heavy this time of year—and that’s more common than you think.

At Your Next Right Step Therapy, we support individuals navigating seasonal changes, low mood, and emotional burnout. Therapy can help you better understand what you’re feeling, build coping tools, and create routines that support your mental health through the winter months.

You don’t have to wait for spring to feel better.
Sometimes the next right step is reaching out. 🤍

🏈 Super Bowl Sunday & Recovery: Your Safety Matters

Big events like the Super Bowl can bring extra pressure for those in addiction recovery—alcohol-centered gatherings, social expectations, and emotional triggers can all show up at once. If you’re in recovery, it’s okay to plan ahead, set boundaries, or skip situations that don’t feel supportive.

A few gentle reminders:
• Have an exit plan if you need one
• Bring your own non-alcoholic drink
• Stay connected with a trusted support person
• Remember that protecting your recovery is more important than fitting in

At Your Next Right Step Therapy, we support individuals navigating recovery and building tools to stay grounded during challenging moments. You don’t have to do this alone—and choosing your well-being is always the right call.

This Super Bowl Sunday, let safety, self-respect, and support come first. 🤍

🤍 Thinking about therapy? You’re not alone.

People seek therapy for many reasons—feeling overwhelmed, navigating change, healing from past experiences, improving relationships, or simply wanting to understand themselves better. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from support.

At Your Next Right Step Therapy, we offer a compassionate space to slow down, reflect, and build tools that support your emotional well-being. Therapy isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about taking the next right step, at your own pace.

If you’ve been considering reaching out, this may be your sign.
Support is available, and you deserve it. 🌿

🤍 Life transitions can feel unsettling—even when they’re expected.

If you’re moving through a season of change—starting or ending a relationship, becoming a parent, losing a role, changing careers, relocating, or simply realizing life looks different than it once did—I want you to know that it’s okay to feel unsteady. Transitions often bring a mix of grief, relief, fear, and hope all at once.

In my work at Your Next Right Step Therapy, I support people as they navigate these in-between spaces. Together, we slow things down and make room for what’s being lost, what’s emerging, and who you’re becoming. You don’t need to have clarity or confidence to begin—just permission to show up as you are.

I accept Medicare, Medicare Advantage (Aetna, UHC), UHC/Optum, Aetna, BCBS, and self-pay options.

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of your next step, that’s okay. Transitions aren’t meant to be rushed—they’re meant to be supported.

You don’t have to move through this season alone. 🤍
