Dogs and their owners love the off-leash park at Cedar Lake Village, thanks to resident Mary Hunter.

When she moved to an independent living villa with her collie and her Coton de Tulear, she noticed the need for an area where they could run, play and get fresh air.

After a meeting with her senior living director, some fundraising, finding a space and building a fence, the park opened just four months later.

“It’s just really neat that it’s here,” says resident John Atherton.

Terry and Kathy Archer didn’t plan to move to a senior living community for at least 10 years, but then they discovered the perfect home at Cedar Lake Village in Olathe, Kansas.

“Making this decision while we were still healthy and not in a crisis was wise. We can enjoy being together in our new home, travel a bit and live life to the fullest. We have space enough for our family to visit. The grandkids do not mind an air mattress on the floor at all. We stay as busy as we choose, and spend our time volunteering and enjoying the freedom we have,” says Terry.

They love their villa and the amenities it offers. They also appreciate the comfortable, Christian environment at Cedar Lake Village, the friendly staff members and neighbors, and the abundance of activities and entertainment.
