We spent the day capturing our remarkable work on video to showcase it at our upcoming Opening Doors Fundraising Luncheon on Wednesday, April 22 at the Overland Park Convention Center. Special thanks to our staff and the patients who shared their stories about how we’ve impacted their lives. And we couldn’t have done it without our videographer David Moore and help from Nikki Balden and Diana Flores!

We’re feeling incredibly grateful this week!

A huge THANK YOU to AdventHealth Kansas for once again stepping forward as our Presenting Sponsor for Opening Doors 2026! Your continued leadership and commitment to community health make a lasting impact on the patients and families we serve.

We’re also proud to recognize the Medical Staff of Overland Park Regional Medical Center for continuing to open doors with us as a Platinum Sponsor. Your partnership helps ensure access to quality, affordable care for those who need it most.

This week, Catherine Rice, VP of Marketing and Outreach, had the pleasure of receiving these generous sponsorship gifts from Sondra Wallace (AdventHealth Kansas) and Lacey Duffin (Overland Park Regional Medical Center)—a powerful reminder of what strong community partnerships can accomplish.

Opening Doors, our signature fundraising event, will be held on Wednesday, April 22 at the Overland Park Convention Center.

Join us for an inspiring afternoon as we celebrate impact, share powerful stories and rally support for accessible care in our community.

We often picture doctors as individuals in white coats with stethoscopes — diagnosing and treating diseases. On this Doctor’s Day, we want to take a moment to recognize our doctors for everything they do beyond that stereotype. Every day, our doctors go above and beyond for our patients. They take into account each patient’s individual situation. They consider the cost of medications before prescribing. They squeeze patients into already full schedules. They listen when patients share their struggles. They collaborate across teams to connect patients with the resources they need.

⚠️ Did you know poisoning is the leading cause of injury-related death in the United States?

Many poisonings happen right at home—often from everyday medicines and household products that aren’t stored safely.

Our partner, Safe Kids Johnson County Coalition and the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment, are sharing simple steps families can take to help prevent poisoning and keep children safe.

💊 Remember: Keep medicines up, away and out of sight—every time.
