Leadership in Action | Executive Retreat 2025

Yesterday, our McDowell Chamber Executive Leadership Team stepped away from the day-to-day to pause, reflect, and dream forward at beautiful Indigo Nature Retreat.

Guided by Dr. Jim Street, the retreat challenged us to think boldly about the future of our Chamber and our community — defining what it truly means to move .

From exploring our strengths and celebrating milestones to envisioning what’s next for McDowell County, the day was filled with clarity, collaboration, and courageous conversation.

We left inspired — united by purpose, grounded in data, and ready to keep building a stronger, more connected business community.

5 years ago Mike and Jenna trusted Indigo to host their wedding celebration! This past weekend they returned with Ivy their precious daughter to relax in the Forest. In between they have loved and supported Indigo through their patronage and generous contributions to restore this sacred space, post- Helene. We are forever grateful 🌿

Our gratitude is overflowing for the most recent retreat hosted by Leslie Eades & Matt Wagner, co-founders of LMNTL.

One year ago, our journey of recovery began alongside so many of our neighbors. Hurricane Helene brought devastation that left us unable to even reach Indigo Nature Retreat for days. We will never forget the moment when caring neighbors checked in and reassured us that Indigo was still standing.

In the midst of uncertainty, we came together — creating a community chat to share updates, resources, and hope. The outpouring of help and love reminded us that we were not alone in this storm.

We are forever grateful for every hand that reached out, every heart that stood with us, and every effort made to restore what was lost. Because of this collective strength, Indigo continues to serve as a sacred place of healing and restoration today.
