Where to start…
Overland Experts started business as an off road driving school in 1998 and in this time we have always been fortunate and honored to have an amazing team made up of enthusiasts, educators, and friends. Honestly, I don’t know how we could have accomplished what we have in the last 27 years without ALL of them! It’s cliche as HELL but it’s true! All of this said, there are those very special people who tend to be the “glue” that holds everyone together; these are the people that make sure we are all in the right place at the right time delivering the absolute best to our amazing clients! They calm us down, give us advise, and when needed, “lay down the law”. There is no justice in referring to people like this as mere “employee” or “co-worker”; descriptors like this are too trite and certainly not enough. This week we lost one of these people. We lost one of THE most amazing human beings we were lucky enough to have ever met in the first place - Kat. People like Kat are put on this earth to remind us all that this ain’t such a bad rock to live on! To say the OEX team/family is devastated is to put it mildly. Kat minded our compass, she was the “X - at the conn”, and the greatest of friends. Kat reminded us to smile and to laugh. She was a mother, a wife, a daughter, and a sister. Kat had a way with her fellow human beings and I would be amiss if I didn’t say that I never saw an animal that didn’t love Kat! Kat was a fighter and she would slap me SILLY if I did not mention this as well! She never gave up easily! She was tenacious and driven and always focused. Kat never picked a fight but she sure as hell would finish one if she had to! Cancer was her last opponent and though it took her from us all Kat finished the fight on HER terms, the way SHE wanted - with her family.
Kat, we will miss you more than you know. We are better human beings for knowing you and we are greater company because of you!
