Critical Skills Education & Training was formed by partners Colleen Atkinson and Doug Lo Presti, experienced Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMTs), Emergency Medical Services Instructors (EMSIs) to provide instruction and certification in CPR, First Aid and other medical and safety related subjects for schools, the lay community and EMS professionals as well as businesses, medical staffs, daycare and childcare centers and more. We are American Heart Association Instructors and, as working EMTs, know from personal experience the difference that CPR can make in the outcome of adverse cardiac events. We are passionate about what we teach because we believe so strongly in it and want to spread that passion throughout the community because we know it saves lives. We guarantee the success of all our students and will not stop teaching until they feel ready to “save a life”.

Looking forward to being "Speakers" at the CSDA annual conference at Mohegan Sun next week. 3,000 attendees, three days and two nights of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Heartsaver classes. Lots of networking, bad food and long days and nights...it's what we do! And we love it.

This is a video from one of the EMS sites I subscribe to. It's graphic and disjointed because it's from the Officer's body camera, but well worth watching. After a shooting chase, the Officers bring down the shooter with a bullet to the groin. After reloading, chasing and shooting, the Officer quickly ensures scene safety (handcuffs) then calmly pulls his tourniquet out and saves the shooter's life.

We'll be delivering two sessions of CEU training for Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC) and Basic Life Support (BLS) at the Connecticut State Dental Association's annual conference at Mohegan Sun in two weeks. This is a 3-day event hosting more than 3,000 attendees at the Mohegan Sun Convention Center.

EMR - Initial course is going well. Everyone is fully engaged and (we hope) having a good time. Lifting and moving of patients last night. "Rescues" were made from under a truck, entrapment in a shower stall, etc.
