Dominic James Grant, 18, of Millinocket, left this earth too soon due to a tragic ATV accident on August 24th, 2024. Dominic was born on March 12th, 2006 in Bangor, Maine, where he and his mother resided before moving “home” to Millinocket in 2017.

Dominic, affectionately known as “The Dominator” by family & friends, had a charismatic personality. He had a magnetic charm about him that drew people in. You never saw him without a smile on his handsome face or hearing his contagious laughter that you couldn’t help being attracted to.

Dom loved the outdoors. From the time he was old enough to walk, he loved anything that had a motor and wheels. He loved trading and selling on his favorite website for dirt bikes, snow sleds and 4-wheelers, along with swapping parts with his buddies. He loved riding them with his family & friends, almost as much as he enjoyed taking them apart and putting them back together again. He was a true mechanic by heart.
Dom was so proud of his black GMC truck he bought that had no motor, wheels or back seat. He spent countless hours in his friend’s garages, using the money he earned to customize it into how he wanted it to look. He would smile from ear to ear just talking about it and what he was going to do to it next!

Dominic graduated from Stearns High School, Class of 2024 and was in the Welding Program at Northern Penobscot Tech Region III in Lincoln during his Junior & Senior years. He became a Certified Welder and was employed at Pelletier's Manufacturing in Millinocket, making parts for their logging trucks.

Dominic had a heart of gold and was always ready to help anyone who needed him. His passing has left our hearts shattered, and our lives broken from this loss.

Dominic is survived by his father, Jonathan Grant and his loving mother and best friend, Katie Goodwin Grant & her partner, DustanThompson. His Grandparents, Jim (Papa) & Lenie (GiGi) Goodwin and Leighton & Janice Grant. His special extended families, Jeni & Relland Thompson, Tyler, Amanda, Preston & Tucker Thompson, and Dan & Melissa (LaLa) Davies. Dominic also leaves behind his loving aunts, Jamie Goodwin, and Heather Grant & her fiancé Rob Andazola. His cousins, Nicholas & Dayton Bell, and Gage Bulley. Dominic was blessed with many Great Aunts, Uncles, Cousins & Countless Friends. Dom will be sorely missed by his beloved pets, Tony, Beau & Lucy.

Dominic touched so many lives during his short time on Earth, and was loved by everyone who knew him.

A Church Service will be held at the Millinocket Baptist Church, Penobscot Ave, in Millinocket, Maine, on Saturday, September 14, 2024, @ One O’Clock in the afternoon.

Donations can be made to: Northern Penobscot Tech Region III, 35 West Broadway, Lincoln, Maine 04457, going towards scholarships in his name to the Welding Program there.

To My Precious Dominic:
You Are My Sunshine
My Only Sunshine
You Make Me Happy
When Skies Are Gray
You’ll Never Know Dear
How Much I Love You
Please Don’t Take
My Sunshine Away
Love You Forever,
GiGi❤️

07/25/2024

Gary Michael DeGrasse, 70, of Bradley, Maine passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, surrounded by his loving wife, children, and grandchildren following a brief illness.

Gary was born June 8, 1954, in Old Town, Maine, the son of John “Jack” and Theresa (Lavoie) DeGrasse. He graduated from Old Town High School in 1972, and on September 1, 1973, he married his high school sweetheart, Catherine, who he fondly referred to as “Cap.” Gary possessed a hard work ethic, which he passed along to his children and they to their children. Gary worked numerous jobs during his high school years. Shortly after graduation, he took a position with Bangor Hydro Electric Company, and he progressed through the ranks, eventually earning Lineman 1st Class. In 1989, he was promoted to Assistant Line Superintendent and then to Line Superintendent of the Northern Division. In 2003, Gary founded Powerlines Construction, Inc., which he owned and operated until June 2019. It goes without saying that Gary made many lifelong friends during his years working line construction. These friends and the work he did everyday were a special part of his life and instrumental to what and who he was. Gary also owned and operated Hillside Apartments in Bradley since 1979.

Gary was a generous person and enjoyed sharing and spending time with his many family members and friends, particularly at his home in Bradley and his camp on Chemo Pond, both of which he took great pride in meticulously maintaining. He also enjoyed spending time at the “deer camp” on Great Works Stream that he shared with his two sons, as well as following his children and grandchildren in all their sporting activities throughout the years. As his friends and family know, he was so proud of his three children and their accomplishments, and he loved hearing about all the achievements of his grandchildren, which are far too many to mention here. He was a bit of a bragger, rightly so!

Gary was predeceased by his parents and grandparents; his brother, Bill and his wife Mary Ellen; and many special aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was also predeceased by who he would say was his best friend and biggest supporter, his father-in-law, Paul Buchanan, Sr.

Gary is survived by his wife of nearly 51 years, Cathy; daughter, Jill and her husband Rob Gagner of Hampden; sons, Matthew and his wife Jessica, and Brian and his wife Erin, all of Bradley; granddaughters, Rilee and her husband Jack Barteaux, Alexis DeGrasse, and Mallory Walker; grandsons, Nicholas Himmelwright and his significant other Bayley Bryant, Jack DeGrasse, and Charles DeGrasse; sister, Paula and her husband, Wayne Oakes of Bradley; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Barteaux; niece, Janelle Oakes; special uncle, Lucien Lavoie; mother-in-law, Valerie Buchanan; and many special friends.

A graveside service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery in Bangor, Maine on Tuesday July 30, 2024 at 11a.m. All attendees are encouraged to meet at the Superintendent’s lodge. Donations in Gary’s memory may be made to a charity of your choosing.

Gary was born on June 8th, 1954 and passed away on July 21st, 2024 at the age of 70

H. Edward "Ed" Ramsey, a resident of Howland, Maine, passed away on June 27, 2024, at the age of 71 at St. Joseph hospital in Bangor after losing a long battle to cancer. Born on August 19, 1952, in Bangor, Maine. Ed was a man whose deep-seated values and love for his family were evident to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Ed's character was one of steadfast dedication, a trait that he carried into his professional life first as a foreman for RF Tracy Construction then later in life moved onto being a seasoned Harvester Operator with AW Madden INC. Outside of his work, Ed found joy in the great outdoors, engaging in fishing, nurturing his expansive garden, and diving into various automotive projects – each hobby a reflection of his connection to the natural beauty and mechanical elegance of the world around him.

Ed's soul was most content at his cherished camp on West Lake, a place he referred to as his legacy and a sanctuary from the daily grind, where tranquility reigned and family moments were savored. It was here that he forged some of his fondest memories and left an indelible mark upon the natural landscape he so admired. His camp was not just a retreat but a gathering place for family celebrations and quiet moments in nature, embodying the peace he valued. He hosted many celebrations and what he would call a “lobster feed” every year for his family and extended family and had such a sense of pride being the glue that pulled everyone together for his celebrations.

A devoted family man, Ed's legacy is carried on by his loving wife. Ed is survived by his loving wife who was his high school sweetheart, Linda Ramsey; his children, Michelle Woodard and her husband Chris, Heather Ramsey and her fiancé Josh Smith, Alisa Cullens and her husband Dave, and his stepdaughter Laurie Ross; his many grandchildren, Samantha Kuczynski and her husband Jesse, Nicholas Hutchins, Brittany Moon and her fiancé Monty Sawyer, Morgan Moon, Brianna Moon, Colby Hannan, Kaden Hannan, Gabriel Hutchins, Caleb Moon, Garrett Woodard, and step-grandchildren, James Frost, Sarah Leighton, Mary Louise Ross, and their families. And his beloved great- grandchildren Rawleigh Sawyer, Alexander Kuczynski, Cooper McLaughlin, and Grayson Sawyer; his brothers, Rodrick (Darla) Smart and Kelly Ramsey and his partner Robin Thurlow; sister, Tina Ramsey and her partner Dan Burton; brother-in-law Bruce Andrus and brother-in-law Clifford (Bernadette) Andrus and several nieces and nephews.

He was forever grateful for his neighbors and close friends, William Moon and Eric and Jill Smith. His longtime friends and coffee buddies Alan Soucy and David Neal.

His bonds with family were the essence of his being, as he was the steadfast foundation upon which they built their lives. Ed will be profoundly missed by his family and friends who saw in him not only kinship but also friendship and guidance.

Ed was greeted in the afterlife by his loving devoted grandparents, Leslie and Susan Smart; his parents, Herbert Ramsey and Cleta Smart; his brother-in-law, Thomas Andrus, and his coffee buddy Ed Totz., His memory will be cherished by the many lives he touched, from relatives to long-established friends.
