Behind every great product is a story worth sharing!
Founded in 1987 by Roger Roberds, MicroLumen began with a bold vision to revolutionize medical tubing. At the heart of that vision was polyimide, our first tubing compound.
Its strength, flexibility, and precision allowed us to engineer microscopic tubes that set new standards for the medical device industry. These tubes were only a few thousandths of an inch thick and were precision-engineered for strength and flexibility to meet the unique demands of the human body.
Our proprietary process delivers significantly tighter tolerances than conventional extrusion, enabling engineers to design highly specialized devices for life-saving procedures.
While polyimide remains a cornerstone of our product line, we have evolved far beyond it. Today, we engineer custom medical tubing with advanced polymers and custom compounds, including PTFE, Pebax®, Nylon, and Polyurethane, to deliver industry-leading products for the most demanding applications.
Today, we are proud to have more than 300 employees working together to advance medical technology. From incorporation in Tennessee, Roger and his sons grew MicroLumen into what it is today, a global partner for medical device engineers headquartered in Oldsmar, Florida.
Built on values like hard work, visionary leadership, innovation, and quality, we have expanded our capabilities to meet the evolving needs of an industry focused on improving patient outcomes. From cardiovascular catheters to stent delivery systems, our tubing helps make less invasive surgical procedures possible.
