We want to address the incident that occurred within our facility last evening. The Olean Police Department and other local law enforcement responded to OGH after receiving multiple 911 calls that requested a lockdown.
Our security team and hospital leadership worked closely with local law enforcement to quickly assess the situation. After a thorough investigation, it was determined that the calls were a misunderstanding and there was no credible threat to staff, patients or visitors, and law enforcement confirmed that the facility was never in danger.
We understand this may have caused concern, and we want to reassure our community that there is no ongoing risk. All safety protocols were followed appropriately, and our teams responded swiftly and professionally to ensure the safety of everyone at OGH.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Olean Police Department, New York State Police and the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office for their quick response in ensuring the safety of our patients, staff and visitors.
