Universal Primary Care joined Leaders from Neighborhood Health Center, Jericho Road Community Health Center, Community Health Center of Buffalo, and Evergreen Health today to urge Governor Kathy Hochul and state lawmakers to invest in health centers. This event in Buffalo was part of a series of regional health center advocacy actions taking place across New York State as decisions are being made leading up to the April 1 NYS budget deadline.

CEO Brett Lawton said, “Universal Primary Care is happy to see good support for health centers in the governor’s newly released budget. However, health centers are working with Medicaid reimbursement rates that haven’t been updated for 25 years to reflect the cost of providing care to our over 14,000 rural patients in Allegany and Cattaraugus Counties. We must have bigger investments into health centers to help us keep our doors open to serve our communities that count on us!”

Governor Kathy Hochul: They count on us. Can we count on you?

🦷 Great News for Dental Care in Our Community!

Recognizing the importance of good oral health, the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine has announced an exciting new partnership with Pitt Bradford, Universal Primary Care, and Olean General Hospital to establish the Commonwealth’s second regional dental training center—right here in Bradford, PA.

📍 The new dental center will be located at Universal Primary Care’s Old City Hall location and will serve rural Pennsylvania communities by expanding access to much-needed dental care.

What this means for our community:
• 🪥 Training for general practice dental residents, dental hygienists, and dental assistants
• 🦷 Routine dental care available at UPC starting January 2026
• 👩‍⚕️ Dental residents are anticipated to begin providing care later in 2026
• 🧼 Dental hygiene students will provide cleanings
• 👨‍⚕️ Licensed dentists in residency will provide most other dental services
• ✅ All care will be delivered under the supervision of Pitt Dental Medicine faculty

This program promises to fill a huge need in our area and improve access to quality dental care close to home.
