National Rural Health Day is Thursday, and at HealthPartners Olivia Hospital & Clinic, we’re proud to deliver quality care that’s close to home in west central Minnesota. Rural communities like ours are strengthened when care, technology and community partnerships come together.

Among our investments, we’re increasing access to in-person visits with specialists in west central Minnesota — ensuring patients can receive advanced care closer to home for complex needs. We’re also expanding virtual and phone visits, offering at-home colorectal cancer screening collection kits, and building stronger care teams through mobile clinical simulation training — preparing colleagues for a variety of medical scenarios using innovative tools.

“Rural care must be as safe, effective, affordable and accessible as care in our city centers,” says Andrea Walsh, president and CEO. “It’s not a question of if; it’s a question of how. That’s where so much of our innovation is happening.”

IGNITE Your Future: Connecting Our Teams to Tomorrow’s Talent

Over 1,050 sophomores from 19 high schools came together at Ridgewater College for IGNITE Your Future — a hands-on, career exploration event designed to connect students with local industries and employers.

Hosted in partnership with Ridgewater College and the Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, IGNITE offered students immersive experiences across all six Minnesota Career Fields:
• Business, Management & Administration
• Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources
• Arts, Communications & Information Systems
• Engineering, Manufacturing & Technology
• Health Sciences
• Human Services

Students explored career paths through interactive simulations that highlighted the skills needed in today’s workforce. Our teams proudly represented Radiology, Lab, and Nursing from Olivia, Hutchinson, and HealthPartners, giving students a meaningful glimpse into health care careers.

We’re proud to have been part of an event that inspires and equips the next generation. Seeing students engage with hands-on career experiences — especially in health care — reminds us why these partnerships matter. Together, we’re helping build a stronger, more informed future workforce.
