This photograph was printed in memoriam of Harold Frank Joske, who was born in San Antonio, Texas on this date 136 years ago, on the 16th of February 1890. He died unexpectedly on the 5th of September 1921 at the age of 31, due to drowning while swimming with friends in the Guadalupe River.

His remains were taken to New Braunfels before being transported to Port Loring Undertaking Company in San Antonio. He was interred at Congregation of Beth El Memorial Park, also in San Antonio.

Mr. Joske, U.S. Army veteran, was vice president and general manager of Joske Brother’s Department Store. He also served as vice president of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. Never married, he was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Joske, and brother to Mrs. Frederick G. Oppenheimer.
