As we continually strive to keep our patients and staff healthy, we are offering telemedicine (virtual visits through phone or video) for patients with symptoms related to COVID-19. Try this full of antioxidants and zero fats added Apple Kheer!!

Recipe - Apple Kheer 🍎
Today in this social distancing time! I am sure we are not too distant from craving sweets!! So I decided to share my new tried APPLE KHEER!! Low calorie, zero added fat and full of antioxidants!! Please see the recipe below:

Ingredients - (makes 8-12 servings)
Milk - 5 cups ( 4 cups 2% milk and 1 cup whole milk)
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Freshly grated apples- 4 cups
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
Mixed nuts - 1/2 cup (almonds and pistachios)
Custard powder - 4 Tbsp

Method:
1. Take 2 non stick pans side by side..add 5 cups of milk in one of the pan and start to boils.
2 . In the second pan, add freshly grated apples and start to cook. Once the apple starts to change color and sizzle, add sugar to it.
3. Add custard powder to the boiling milk. In the other pan, Keep stirring to let the sugar dissolve completely.
4. Now slowly add boiling milk to apple sugar mixture and keep stirring.
5. Once the milk and apple mixture starts to thicken, add cardamom powder and chopped nuts.
6. Refrigerate kheer and serve it chilled.

Nutrition facts - 135 calorie a cup...

Try this and let me how it turned out..I found my low calorie and full of antioxidants kheer..one more way to keep the doctor away..

Sharing a new recipe for National Nutrition Month! - Date Nuggets!! Full of nutrition and a great substitute to satisfy sugar cravings! Dates are great source of iron, soluble fiber, potassium and natural sugar. With nuts in it, it is a great nutrient dense recipe..

Please see the recipe below:
Ingredients:
Dates chopped - 2 cups
Ghee - 2 Tbsp
Mixed nuts chopped (almonds, walnuts, pistachios) - 3/4-1 cup
Poppy seeds - 2 tbsp
Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
dry coconut - 1/2 cup

Method for preparation:
1. Grind chopped dates in a grinder to a coarse paste
2. Take 1 tsp ghee and roast poppy seeds until golden brow and then remove it in a bowl.
3. Take 1 tbsp ghee and roast the mixed nuts until golden brown.
4. Take remaining ghee and add the coarse date paste, once the dates start to soften up, add the roasted chopped nuts and poppy seeds to it. Mix until entire mixture becomes completely one.
5. Remove it on a plate and after cooling for few minutes make it into logs.Roll the logs on to the dry coconut and then cut the logs in to round or oval.
