As someone with multiple autoimmune conditions, there are days that it is so hard to do even the simplest things that we take for granted, like brushing your hair or getting out of your car after you get home from an average day at work. Sometimes, it's like walking through quicksand to get up and go to the store.
Some days you can barely move because your entire body feels like you were in an accident the day before. Sore, bruised, aching when you simply did normal activities.
Then there are days that are "ok". Those "ok" days are like heaven to us, but are a healthy person's roughest days.
We often have struggled with these conditions, these autoimmune diseases most of our lives. Or just found out that has been the answer to all of the things we've been struggling with and couldn't understand. We have learned how to mask the pain, the struggle so well. What you see on the outside is a strong, motivated, ambitious person. But some days....some days on the inside we are exhausted and pushing ourselves to get through the next 30 minutes. Then....will we make it to the next?
Some diseases are not always visible and those can be the hardest to fight. Too all of my friends, family and clients who I have bonded with, shared stories, tips and struggles with....I see you. We are in this together and thank God we have eachother.
I am so grateful to have a career that allows me to help people. It is my purpose in life to help others and make their lives a bit better, even if it's just for an hour.
