It’s one of the hardest truths to sit with:
Yes, they were hurting.
Yes, they had trauma of their own.

But that doesn’t make what they did okay.

Your empathy doesn’t erase your pain.
Their brokenness doesn’t cancel out the harm.

You’re allowed to grieve what happened.
You’re allowed to hold both truths:
They were struggling, AND they hurt you.

And you didn’t deserve that.
