1. Start Slow

Begin with cool showers or a 60–65°F plunge for 30–60 seconds. Lower the temperature gradually as you adapt.

2. Aim for the Basics

Beginners typically target: 45–55°F

2–3 minutes

Stay in the range of controlled discomfort, not pain.

3. Control Your Breath

Use slow, steady breathing (inhale 4, exhale 6) to calm your nervous system and reduce shock.

4. Stay Safe

Avoid plunging if ill or dizzy. Step out if you feel disoriented, and get medical clearance if pregnant or managing heart conditions.

5. Warm Up Mindfully

Reheat naturally afterward — move around, layer up, or sip warm tea.

Ingredients:

12 oz fresh cranberries

½ cup water

¼ cup orange juice

3–4 tbsp maple syrup or honey (adjust to taste)

1 tsp orange zest

½ tsp cinnamon

Directions:
