Meet Your Mentor — Open Mentorship Office Hours
Join us for Open Mentorship Hours, this Wednesday, with Matthew Currier, PT, DPT, OCS, TPS, a Lead Physical Therapist at Kaiser Permanente with extensive experience in persistent pain management.
Matt completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of Illinois at Chicago and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington. He has been practicing for ten years, specializing in persistent pain for the past eight.
At Kaiser Permanente, Matt splits his time between a general orthopedics clinic and a multidisciplinary chronic pain service. In this role, he collaborates with physicians, psychologists, pharmacists, and nurses to provide care and consultation for complex persistent pain cases.
Matt holds both Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) and Therapeutic Pain Specialist (TPS) certifications. He also leads physical therapy efforts for the annual Seattle/King County Clinic and serves as adjunct faculty with the Tufts DPT – Seattle program.
During mentorship hours, Matt will discuss persistent pain management, including:
• Specialization and training pathways for working with a pain population
• Communication strategies for people experiencing persistent pain
• Case-based discussion on best practices for complex pain patients
Matt looks forward to connecting with mentees, sharing insights from his clinical experience, and supporting clinicians interested in developing skills in persistent pain management.
