Whole Health Naturopathy

Whole Health Naturopathy Compassionate and attentive family medicine, taking care of people since 2007. We love people, we love what we do, and it shows in how we practice medicine.

The doctors at Whole Health Naturopathy are committed to providing attentive, compassionate, and quality medical care for you and your family. We approach each patient as an individual, not as a diagnosis. We take the time to get to know the person in front of us so that we can develop a treatment plan that is the least harmful, most gentle, and most effective for you or your child. We are budget conscious and accept many insurance plans. As licensed Naturopathic Physicians in the State of Washington, we act as both a primary care physician and a natural medicine specialist. We treat people of all ages and most conditions. We are trained and experienced in the foundations of naturopathic medicine and focus our practice on balancing the power of natural medicines with evidence-based treatments. We are unique in that we have a sizable in-house botanical medicine dispensary that allows the doctors to make individualized formulas for healing, which are a powerful supplement to nutrient therapy, diet and lifestyle counseling, and homeopathic medicines. As licensed doctors in Washington State, we can prescribe most medications when needed. Also, by partnering with some of the most trust-worthy vitamin and supplement manufacturers on the market, we can offer our patients access to a wide range of high-quality and reliable practitioner-grade supplements through our online dispensary.

Our clinic is closed today in observance of Presidents’ Day.

While this federal holiday honors the office of the presidency, it’s also a meaningful moment to pause and reflect on what that role is ~actually~ meant to be - and who it is meant to serve. At the heart of United States Constitution are a few core principles that define our democracy and guide presidential responsibility. We encourage you to revisit these six foundational ideas:

The Six Core Principles of the U.S. Constitution

1. Popular Sovereignty: The people hold ultimate power, with the government deriving its authority from the consent of the governed ("We the People").
2. Limited Government: The government is not all-powerful and must obey the law, with its powers specifically defined and restricted by the Constitution.
3. Separation of Powers: Governmental power is divided into three distinct branches (legislative, executive, judicial) to prevent any single branch from becoming too dominant.
4. Checks and Balances: Each branch has ways to limit the powers of the other two branches, ensuring a balance of authority (e.g., presidential veto, Senate confirmation).
5. Federalism: Power is divided and shared between a national (federal) government and state governments, creating a dual system of governance. The Federal government has to be strong enough to preserve the union of the states.
6. Judicial Review: The power of the courts (especially the Supreme Court) to declare laws and executive actions unconstitutional, ensuring they align with the Constitution.

This Presidents’ Day, we’re especially mindful of the first two principles: Popular Sovereignty and Limited Government. Our president is meant to work FOR the people, not above them - and to operate within the boundaries of the law.

An informed, engaged public is essential to a healthy democracy. Let’s continue to educate ourselves, elect leaders who represent us well, and hold those in power accountable, today and every day. 💚

We want to share a quick update with our community. 💜

Dr. Alexis Banducci will be out of the office on medical leave today through March 16, 2026, and she will definitely be missed during this time. In the meantime, Dr. Frisch will be available for the infant pediatric care as needed, and Dr. Rosinbum and Dr. Wells for the older pediatric patients. Appointments are available, and it is a good time to be scheduling for March when Dr. Banducci returns.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. Dr. Banducci is truly one of a kind, and we’re already looking forward to welcoming her back in March!

Do naturopathic doctors ever prescribe pharmaceutical medications? 💊
Short answer: yes - when it’s appropriate and in your best interest.

Dr. Marnie shares how naturopathic doctors approach prescribing pharmaceuticals as part of an integrative, patient-centered care plan. At Whole Health Naturopathy, our goal is never to be “natural-only” or “medication-first,” but to use the right tool at the right time - whether that’s lifestyle support, natural supplements, or prescription medications.

Care is always individualized, evidence-informed, and grounded in what will best support your health and quality of life. We believe in meeting patients where they are and creating thoughtful treatment plans that truly work for them. Have questions about what integrative care could look like for you? We’re always happy to talk!

January is Thyroid Awareness Month, and one of the most common questions we hear is: “What’s the difference between Hashimoto’s and other thyroid issues?”

Hashimoto’s is an autoimmune condition, meaning the immune system mistakenly attacks the thyroid, leading to inflammation and often low thyroid function over time. Because the immune system is involved, care often focuses on calming inflammation, supporting nutrient status, and identifying autoimmune triggers.

Other thyroid issues - like hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism - occur when the thyroid is producing too little or too much hormone without an autoimmune cause. Thyroid nodules are another common thyroid issue and are often found on imaging. Most nodules are benign and do not mean cancer, but they may be monitored with ultrasound and, in some cases, biopsy.

Symptoms can overlap across conditions, which is why proper testing matters. A full thyroid panel, thyroid antibody testing, and sometimes imaging help us understand what’s really going on and guide appropriate care.

If you’ve been feeling confused about your thyroid symptoms or wondering what your labs (or imaging) really mean, we’re here to help you find clarity. 💜

Do you actually know where your kidneys are? 🤔
We often see patients come in concerned about “kidney pain,” but true kidney-related pain isn’t all that common. That’s why we always ask you to show us exactly where it hurts - a little anatomy clarity helps us better understand what’s really going on. 😊

Today, we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. - a day that deserves to be recognized, reflected on, and held with intention. In that spirit, our clinic is closed today and will reopen with normal hours tomorrow, Tuesday, January 20.

Take some time today to spread love and justice in his honor! 😊💚
