Today is World Homeopathy Day, honoring the birth of Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, the German physician who founded the system of homeopathy in the late 18th century. Homeopathy is a sophisticated form of natural medicine that works by supporting the body’s own healing abilities. Rather than focusing only on a diagnosis or a single symptom, homeopathy looks at the whole person - how symptoms show up uniquely in each individual and what they reveal about underlying imbalance.
At Whole Health Naturopathy, homeopathy is one of the many tools our doctors use to support patients in restoring balance and strengthening the body’s natural defenses. Our providers are deeply committed to continuing education in this field. For example, Dr. Marnie has studied with the New England School of Homeopathy for more than 20 years and is currently participating in a year-long advanced course focused on prescribing remedies for acute illness! This ongoing study helps refine the tools she uses to support patients when short-term illnesses arise.
Naturopathic medicine is about meeting each patient where they are and drawing from a variety of healing traditions, including homeopathy, to support long-term wellness. On World Homeopathy Day, we celebrate the long history of this healing system and the practitioners dedicated to keeping its knowledge alive. 🌿
