✨ Guest Speaker Spotlight ✨

We are beyond excited to welcome Kelli Mae back as a guest speaker at our Blissful Birth Initiations State-Certified Doula Training this April in Olympia.
Kelly has such a beautiful gift for helping people reconnect with their heart, soul, and voice. Through singing and shared experiences, she creates spaces where people can soften, open up, and truly connect with each other.
One of the things she reminds us of is how powerful our voice really is. The vibration of our voice can help our bodies soften, release, and open something that can be incredibly supportive during birth.
At our last training, Kelly Mae led some incredibly heartwarming group activities, and for many of our doulas it became one of the most memorable highlights of the entire training.
In a world that can sometimes feel heavy, we truly believe we need more love, more singing, and more lightness, and Kelly brings exactly that. We are so grateful she will be joining us again. 💛

We’re excited to welcome Fiona as one of our guest speakers at our Blissful Birth Initiations State-Certified Doula Training this April in Olympia.
Fiona is a mom of two (soon to be three!) boys and started her own postpartum doula business last April, where she primarily works as a night doula supporting families in the early weeks after birth.
She is trained as both a birth and postpartum doula and is currently studying lactation counseling, continuing to expand her knowledge to better support new families.
We’re so grateful that Fiona will be sharing her experience and insight about postpartum support with our students. 🦋

We’re excited to welcome Ruby Stocking, MSN, ARNP, CNM, PMHNP-BC as a guest speaker on our Provider Panel at the Blissful Birth Initiations State-Approved Doula Training this April in Olympia.
Ruby provides midwifery and reproductive care with a strong focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, trauma-informed care, reproductive justice, and choice. She is deeply committed to creating safe and inclusive spaces that support healing, health, and personal growth.
With a unique background as a documentary filmmaker and an out-of-hospital birth worker, Ruby brings a powerful perspective rooted in advocacy, bodily autonomy, and holistic care. She currently works as a Certified Nurse Midwife with Kaiser in Puyallup and attends births at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma.
We feel so grateful she will be sharing her voice and experience with our students. 🦋

We’re excited to welcome Melanie as one of our guest speakers on the Provider Panel at our Blissful Birth Initiations State-Certified Doula Training this April in Olympia.
Melanie trained and worked as a doula in Albuquerque, New Mexico, while attending nursing school. She has been a nurse at St. Peter’s Hospital for the past four years and is currently pursuing her master’s degree to become a midwife.
In Melanie’s words:
“This work absolutely lights me up. It is the greatest honor to join people in their journey as they navigate the sacred transformation that is birth.”

✨ Guest Speaker Announcement – Blissful Birth Initiations Doula Training ✨
We are so excited to welcome Anne Teader as one of our guest speakers for the upcoming State-Certified Blissful Birth Initiations Doula Training this April in Olympia.
Anne is a staff midwife at ATC (pending licensure) and a former doula, bringing a deep understanding of the birth world from multiple perspectives. She also has foundational training in harm reduction, an approach that centers compassion, meeting people where they are, and supporting families with respect and dignity.
Anne’s experience bridging doula work and midwifery offers such valuable insight for our students. Learning from providers who truly understand the role of doulas helps strengthen collaboration and ultimately supports better care for birthing families.
We feel incredibly grateful that Anne will be sharing her knowledge with our students.

We’re so thankful to welcome Meghan Lanese Licensed Social Worker, Family Counselor to our April BBI State-Approved Doula Training.

Megan has a private telehealth practice offering therapy to parents during the perinatal period and early parenting years. She specializes in the treatment of postpartum mood disorders and trauma.

She will be teaching about:

How to support a family with a negative outcome.

PPD and Anxiety: How to recognize and when to refer out or call 911.

The normal transition for the birthing person, the newborn, and the entire family during the postpartum experience.

I’m sharing this short video to give you a little feeling for the energy, connection, and hands-on learning that happens during our Blissful Birth Initiations state-approved 32-hour, fully in-person doula training here in Olympia.

Our training is immersive, practical, and deeply rooted in the belief that birth work is best learned in community through discussion, practice, movement, and shared wisdom.

Over the next few days, I’ll also be highlighting some of the incredible guest speakers who will be joining us for the upcoming training. We are so fortunate to have such knowledgeable and inspiring professionals sharing their expertise with our students.

It breaks my heart when someone tells me they’ve felt called to become a doula for years… and then says, “I just can’t afford the training.”

Every training Stefanie Anderson and I teach, we meet people who are ready to support families during one of life’s most powerful moments.

Our Blissful Birth Initiations training is $825 for 32 hours of fully in-person, hands-on education In Washington State, only a couple of trainings still offer the full 32 hours in person. Hands-on learning matters!

And it doesn’t end there: we offer post-training support groups, plus a childbirth education class and a lactation class so you can step into your work with confidence.

Certified doulas can work with families enrolled in ProviderOne (Apple Health and Molina), building meaningful income while supporting families.

In the past, sponsors like WCWB, SPSCC, EDC, and MultiCare made scholarships possible. That funding is gone, but together, we can create new opportunities.
