If enacted, the bill would require Medicare to cover specified food and nutrition services, with similar changes made to Medicaid.

What is IRMAA?

IRMAA stands for Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount, and is a surcharge that higher-income Medicare recipients pay on top of their Medicare Part B (medical insurance) and Part D (prescription drug coverage) premiums. If you earn above the threshold, you'll pay more for coverage than a beneficiary with a lower income.

If you're expected to pay a surcharge on your Medicare benefits, make sure it's still warranted.

Thurston County Medic One will present a Hands-Only CPR and AED Training course for adult victims at the Tumwater Library on Wednesday, April 22.
