Thursday 12-30-21, 12-1 pm on KAOS 89.3 fm (kaosradio.org live stream ) Interview Monday 12-27-21 , 12 to 1pm on Zoom with Kim Dobson to produce a MP3 podcast for air play Guest :Co Founder Nora Edge Topic :Capital Homecare Co-Operative progress and news . The most recent news: Capital Homecare Co-op is turning 4 years old in march, in 2021 we gave out $4 in all staff raises and over $42K in bonuses and quarantine reimbursement to support caregivers through Covid19... a 4th homecare co-op opened in 2020 in Port Angeles WA, Ridgeline Homecare Co-op, and a 5th just opened its doors two months ago in Anacortes WA Heartsong Homecare Co-op (this 5th one is really cool because it was started by a lady who also lives in a resident owned community/double co-op coolness Kathy Rivas). Biggest challenges facing homecare (and homecare co-ops) is recruitment ( a more dangerous work environment in a post-c19 world, workers are realizing their worth and demanding it, co-ops at the forefront of that) and high cost of care to vulnerable adults, plus market flooded by multi-nationally owned franchise care factories..
