Fernandez Therapeutic Massage update:

I hope you are doing well and staying healthy! I wanted to give you an update on the latest news regarding massage therapy in WA State. This week, The Department of Health has released a “COVID-19 health alert” disclosing new rules and requests. I am only able to provide massage to patients with an urgent medical issue. “Examples include severe whiplash and acute pain control. A prescription for massage is not efficient to establish urgent care.” I know how badly I need a massage and know you’re probably in the same boat!
In the meantime, my sister is in the process of making me face masks as I will have wear one during appointments. Massage therapists will also be required to wear protective clothing as well. I will be ready and prepared for all that is required. This is such a crazy time for all of us and it can feel overwhelming at times. All we can do is take it day by day and I can’t wait to see you all again. As I previously said in the last update, unfortunately, I will not be returning to work on May 5th. As you know information changes every day. I will send out another update next week. Hopefully we can start to slowly open the state soon! I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine today! I thought I would share with you a self care tool I use on a regular basis. It's called the foam roller!! This tool and technique can help alleviate tension in the joints and muscles. It's great to use after a run, workout or doing yard work. The foam roller will help you stretch and reduce tension that is trapped in your body. I miss you all and can't wait to get back to work on May 5th!

Let’s focus on the things we can control right now. Exercising, eating healthy, and getting plenty of sleep are just a few key things you need to do to take care of yourself. You have to make time to manage your stress so you can operate more efficiently.

Find healthy stress relievers, like meditation, getting a massage, getting some fresh air or engaging in a hobby. Pay attention to your stress level and notice how you cope with distress. And simply, just breathe💗
