Medical Insurance Specialist! Seeking energetic person to work in high energy, fast-paced specialty office. This position is primarily focused on contacting insurance carriers for verification of benefits. The primary tasks include going online to Medicare and contact major insurance carriers regarding medical codes and benefits. The position also may work into credentialing providers with Medicare and all major insurance companies. The specialist may answer billing phone calls and provide back-up to the front desk on a daily basis. The hours are typically 8:00 to 5:00 but may vary slightly based on company needs. The successful applicant would ideally have experience in a patient accounts or a health insurance position; understanding how health insurance works is a key to doing well in this position.
