Happy belated birthday to our very own, Jim 🎉

He turned 102 yesterday! A little bit about Jim…

He served our country in World War II as a Merchant Marine for four years, and later went on to build a career as a safety engineer. He’s passionate about praising the Lord, he loves to sing worship and gospel music for his fellow residents and staff. At 98 years old he wrote a book sharing his life story, his time in the service and his religious journey.

We love celebrating him and his remarkable accomplishments — please join us in wishing him a very happy belated birthday!

A day in the life at Meadowlark, holiday spirit edition!

Today, our intern Morgan hosted a “holiday market” for our residents to enjoy some Christmas shopping. Staying on theme, Dave Berman performed Christmas music at our Happy Hour, he was amazing! We also had fun painting ornaments for our Christmas tree. 🎄

What’s on the menu today? 🥗
Enjoy our Aksarben Signature Salad, topped with grilled chicken, beets, almonds, feta cheese, and red onion, served with a warm pretzel breadstick.

Our second featured entrée of the day is a classic Reuben sandwich, served with fresh fruit and crispy onion rings.

At Aksarben Village, we are proud to offer a full alternative menu as well, ensuring residents have delicious choices even if the daily specials aren’t their preference.

Tonight we took a trip to Linden Park to see the beautiful Christmas lights, our residents had a wonderful time! The perfect way to kick off December and get into the Christmas Spirit! 🎄✨

We just dropped off 30 blank ornaments to businesses around the Village… which means the great ornament showdown has officially begun.
