Today is International Survivors of Su***de Loss Day! 🫶

International Survivors of Su***de Loss Day (also known as Survivor Day) is an annual observance dedicated to providing support, connection, and healing for individuals who have lost a loved one to su***de. It is always held on the Saturday before American Thanksgiving.

💡Did you know?

Today was designated by the U.S. Congress in 1999 following a resolution introduced by Senator Harry Reid, who lost his own father to su***de. The timing before Thanksgiving is intentional, as the holiday season can be a particularly difficult time for those grieving a loss.

*If you or someone you know is in a crisis, help is available 24/7. Call or text the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline at 988. Veterans can press 1 for specialized support.

The 2025 theme for World COPD Day is “Short of Breath, Think COPD.” World COPD Day takes place on November 19th. This year's theme aims to emphasize that although COPD is the third leading cause of death worldwide, it is often not diagnosed correctly. COPD is a common, preventable, and treatable disease, but extensive under-diagnosis and misdiagnosis lead to patients receiving no treatment or incorrect treatment.

We were HONORED to be able to participate in a Fall Festival, organized by a local assisted living facility.

We loved getting out there and being able to meet many of the residents there, and handed out some prizes and candy as well! We love devoting our time to brighten the lives of others, by just saying "Hello" and having the opportunity to hear so many stories.

Did you know that Pneumonia is a leading cause of death, but it's often preventable?

World Pneumonia Day—November 12—is a yearly reminder that pneumonia can strike anywhere and anytime, and is a serious, potentially life-threatening lung infection. Pneumonia is primarily caused by viruses, bacteria or fungi that are transmitted from one person to another. Pneumonia is significantly high risk for young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems or chronic diseases. Pneumonia is the leading infectious cause of child death.

Support your lung health this November 12. Get vaccinated, practice good hygiene, and don't smoke!
