Every time we prepare to open a new home, a brave owner stands in a similar room to share their vision: providing a dignified, community-based environment for those living with dementia.
The reality is that almost every one of our owners faces opposition. At Legato Living, we make it our mission to ensure they never stand there alone. We assist them in being as prepared as possible, taking a proactive approach to listen to neighbors' concerns, correct misconceptions, and lead with transparency before we ever step into the room.
I look forward to the day when residential assisted living is the standard, not the exception. Until then, WE WILL keep pushing and fighting for the environment we know—and have seen over and over again—is far more appropriate for those living with dementia.
