�Heartland Pride is back July 17–18, 2026, and we’re coming to some of Omaha’s most iconic arts & entertainment venues!

This year we’re partnering with Omaha Performing Arts to bring you an elevated Pride experience:
�✨ Youth Pride, Local Entertainment Stage, Interactive Activities & Vendor Fair: Holland/Tenaska Center
�✨ Evening Show with Local & National Entertainers: Steelhouse Omaha

We also want to give a huge thank-you to our longtime friends at the CHI Health Center for years of partnership. With major construction coming to their campus, this was the perfect opportunity to expand our community collaborations—and we’re entering 2026 stronger than ever. 💪🌈

While some Prides across the country are facing challenges, Heartland Pride isn’t going anywhere.

Universal design:
involves creating environments and experiences that are accessible to people who are Deaf, DeafBlind, or Hard of Hearing through both physical and digital adaptations, often benefiting everyone.

Key principles include providing visual alternatives to auditory information, such as closed captioning or live transcription, and designing physical spaces with clear sightlines, good lighting, and open layouts to support visual communication. Examples range from providing visual fire alarms and doorbells to incorporating flexible learning materials in education.

It’s always a good time with Rikki Poynter!
It was so much fun celebrating you amongst so many other distinguished people

Rikki Poynter was awarded the Carrie Howard Sunshine award for her work as a Deaf content creator, writer, public speaker, accessibility consultant, and disability activist.
Since 2015, she has worked relentlessly to bring awareness to disability rights and to make the world accessible online and offline, from entertainment spaces to political spaces.
Her efforts have allowed her to be recognized by and work with the White House, Apple, Samsung, and Google.
She is currently working to bring accessible information to candidates’ and politicians’ spaces, asking them to make campaigns accessible with ASL interpreters, captions, and more.
