They made our stay as good as it could be by doting on our baby, snuggling him, and taking the utmost care of him when we weren’t there. They fell in love with his personality and sweet demeanor, but they also made sure we as his parents were doing okay, were fully informed of everything going on, and filled the silence with great conversation. “47 days. We’ll never forget that number. It all started with preeclampsia and just a short stay but then they found out she had a stroke in utero which turned into a lot of unknowns about her future. After all this, she had trouble with feeding and things seemed hopeless. Then our Speech & Language Pathologists (SLPs) Brenda and Olga worked tirelessly to figure out the problem which led to us going home! We’ll never forget them. Our days are still filled with therapy and doctor’s appointments but our Blakely is a fighter and is exceeding everyone’s expectations. We couldn’t have done it without the NICU staff at CUMC Bergan Mercy, so THANK YOU!”
