Dear valued Dental Innovations patient,

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:
• Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
• We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
• You may see that our waiting room will not have magazines, children’s toys and so forth, for the time being since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
• Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment for the time being.
• We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
• Please avoid bringing guests and children to your appointment to minimize the amount of people in the office.

Dental Innovations community, with the Covid-19 pandemic, as many of you are aware, the ADA has recommended that all dental offices transition into only seeing patients with a dental emergency or in an emergent situation and to reschedule all elective dental procedures, cleanings, and non-emergency treatment.
With the safety and health of both our patients and staff members in mind, and to aid in preventing the spread of the virus, we are going to adhere to this suggestion.
If you have an appointment scheduled in the next 3 weeks, we will be contacting you and placing you on a list to call and reschedule after an update that is to come before or on April 1st.
Please know that we will be in the office to take any phone calls and emergency situations that may arise in the next few weeks and schedule them accordingly. If you have a dental issue that can not be delayed and are already scheduled, your appointment will be kept and you will be treated during your appointment time.
We take the highest standards of precautions with the sterilization and cleaning of every aspect of our office, from door handles to the instruments that are used, and are continuing to do so. We have increased the frequency of cleaning the common areas of the office, such as the reception area as well as the dental rooms.
If you do have an appointment scheduled or have a dental emergency and can answer "yes" to any of the following, we advise you to seek medical treatment prior to coming to the office:
1) have you traveled out of the country in the last 3 weeks
2) have you come in contact with anyone that has tested positive for Covid-19
3) do you currently have or have you had a temperature of greater than 100° in the past week
Once again, these are the precautionary measures that are recommended that we take for everyone's safety. Please feel free to reach out with any questions and concerns, and remember to Keep Smiling!!
