We know the end of the year gets a little crazy. In this season of gratitude, we are encouraging our staff and families to take a moment to pause and think about the things that make them feel thankful.

You will see our Gratitude Gobble turkeys hanging in each Behaven Kids location.

Next time you stop by, grab a paper hand and write down what you are grateful for. Add it to our turkeys and help us fill our clinics with a little extra joy.

Small tool, big impact.

Our new sensory stickers give kids an easy way to pause, inhale, and reset. These tactile stickers are designed to support moments of grounding and help little ones find calm during busy parts of their day.

You will start seeing them at events soon, and we are excited to share another resource that helps our kids feel supported and in control.

Hey Omaha! Keep your eyes on the skies over the next few weeks. You might spot one of our new Behaven Kids billboards around town.

We created several different designs and we cannot wait to hear which ones become your favorites. If you see one, snap a picture and share it with us.

Our Behaven Kids community has always been full of heart. This year, many of our staff have volunteered to sponsor Thanksgiving meals for families who may be feeling the impact of the SNAP benefit disruption or who simply need a little extra support during the holiday season.

If you are enrolled with us and could use a helping hand, we would love to include you. Please message us to be entered into our Thanksgiving meal drawing.

Behaven Kids is proud to share an exciting update for our families.

As a proud member of the Council for Autism Service Providers (CASP), we’re always looking for ways to support families and strengthen the autism community. CASP recently launched thespectrum.org , a trusted resource for families of children newly diagnosed with Autism (ages 0–5). It offers clear, reliable information in a world where misinformation can often create confusion and worry.

We’ve added this resource to the BuzzBoard Parent Portal our new digital space designed to help Behaven families stay connected, informed, and supported. BuzzBoard will feature prgram updates, schedules, announcements, resources, and more, all in one easy-to-use place.

We encourage families to explore both of these valuable resources and share them with others who may benefit.

On October 29, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services announced that SNAP funding would be paused until the federal government reopens. This pause has left thousands of Nebraska families struggling without the means to buy food. No family should ever wonder how they will feed their children. No child should go to bed hungry.

In response to this pause in funding, Behaven Kids has amplified efforts for our annual food drive. During October, we held a contest across our clinics. The team that collected the most non-perishable food items earned a pizza party. Our La Vista clinic came out on top, providing nearly 200 items ready to distribute to families in need.

Families please come grab some food!

Special Thanks to the following for their generous donations:
-Grunwald
-Ideal Hardware and Window Repair
-Paradise Bakery for the sweet treat reward donation for the winning clinic.

Nebraska Medicaid rate cuts. What does this mean for ABA therapy and families?

As of August 1st, Medicaid reimbursement rates for ABA therapy were slashed by over 50% in Nebraska, leaving many families and providers scrambling.

ABA therapy is recognized by the U.S. Surgeon General as the gold standard of treatment for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, but now, access has been limited.

While many companies are discontinuing services for Medicaid clients, Behaven Kids is here to stay. We continue to accept Medicaid and provide care through our ABA, mental health, and Specialized Day Programs.

Join us at our Family Resource & Q&A Night Tonight
October 23 | 5–7PM | We Rock the Spectrum – Omaha
Free play provided during the session!
