We're already counting down the days until the 2026 Olympics, so we wanted to highlight one of our favorite Olympians - Nina O'Brien! Her story is one many patients relate to. After several injuries, she focused on recovery, rebuilt her strength and returned to competing at an elite level.

Big news at OrthoNebraska! 🏅

We’re proud to share that OrthoNebraska is now the first and only organization in Nebraska to earn Disease Specific Care (DSC) Certification in Shoulder Replacement from the Joint Commission.

This certification recognizes consistent excellence across the entire shoulder replacement experience from evaluation and education to surgery, rehab and outcomes. It reflects our commitment to delivering care that meets national best practices and puts patients first at every step.

With this achievement, OrthoNebraska now holds DSC Certifications in Shoulder, Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement.

🏆 Comeback Athlete Spotlight: Kane Good

Over the past two years, Kane has worked tirelessly in therapy at OrthoNebraska to overcome a variety of injuries, always bringing focus, determination, and a drive to improve.

Through hard work and dedication, he is continuing his baseball career at York University. With big dreams in criminal justice and a bright future ahead, Kane proves that hard work and determination can turn challenges into triumphs.

🏆 Comeback Athlete Spotlight: Jersey Gittins

After a shoulder throwing injury, Jersey worked tirelessly in therapy and on her own to regain motion, build strength and correct biomechanical issues. Thanks to her hard work and guidance from her OrthoNebraska physical therapist Karri Iten, she returned to throwing in just a month and is now fully back in all her sports.

Jersey’s story is a true example of resilience and dedication!
