Dr. Jeffrey Malloy is a chiropractor serving Omaha and the surrounding communities for 36 years. On 12-19-16 Dr. Malloy moved from his office on 90th and Blondo where he practiced for 24 years and joined a group practice on 80th and L street named Chiropractic Wellness Center. Dr. Malloy and the rest of the friendly team at the Chiropractic Wellness Center are dedicated to chiropractic solutions to target your unique needs, whether you are suffering from back pain, neck pain, headaches, or even just plain old muscular tightness and tension. You may need pain relief after suffering an accident, experiencing an injury, or if you have a specific condition such as chronic back pain or a spinal condition; even if you just want to improve your overall health, Dr. Malloy can help you achieve your wellness goals! At your first visit to the Chiropractic Wellness Center, Dr. Malloy will give you a thorough evaluation to see if chiropractic care is right for you. He will answer any questions you may have and explain how chiropractic can help you address your health concern. If there is a good fit, we can develop a plan of chiropractic care that is specific to your condition and health goals. We do not utilize long term "canned/planned" or "prepaid" treatment plans. Each patient is evaluated as an individual with unique conditions and goals. If your goal is short term pain relief and to get in and out as quickly as possible then that is fine. If you are seeking more lasting results with corrective care and are interested in taking a longer view and learning things to help yourself then that is how we will approach your case. If you are interested in wellness/preventative care and making lifestyle changes then that is how we will approach your case. It is your decision and you will always be welcome in this office regardless of your goals/choices. There are 2 types of fiber:

1)Soluble fiber - interacts with water and becomes a gel-like substance in our digestive system. This reaction works to slow our digestion. Foods you can source soluble fiber from include oat bran, barley, nuts, seeds, beans, lentils, peas, apples, citrus fruits, and carrots.

2)Insoluble fiber combines with the other foods we eat and works to bulk up our stool, helping speed up digestion. Foods you can source insoluble fiber from include wheat, whole grains, nuts, beans, cauliflower, green beans, and potatoes.

Curcumin is being recognized and used worldwide in many different forms for multiple potential health benefits. For example, in India, turmeric—containing curcumin—has been used in curries; in Japan, it is served in tea; in Thailand, it is used in cosmetics; in China, it is used as a colorant; in Korea, it is served in drinks; in Malaysia, it is used as an antiseptic; in Pakistan, it is used as an anti-inflammatory agent; and in the United States, it is used in mustard sauce, cheese, butter, and chips, as a preservative and a coloring agent.

Shiitake mushrooms have a positive effect on gut health because it blunts the signals of inflammation in the gut, which is critical for immune function and digestion. Add those Japanese medicinal mushrooms to your daily meals since they contain polysaccharides called glucans, which upregulate the immune system. Shiitake mushrooms contain an anti-cancer ingredient called AHCC.

Which is your favorite mushroom?

Leaky gut syndrome (increased intestinal permeability) occurs when the small intestine wall is damaged through dysbiosis, poor diet, antibiotics, stress, and other factors. The tight junctions between the epithelial cells open too widely and allow large particles of undigested food to slip through and enter the circulation. The result is inflammation that affects the entire body, including the brain. A leaky gut can be a contributing factor to autoimmune disease and neurodegeneration. A plethora of supplements relieve gut symptoms and supports gut healing. In my experience, glutamine is helpful for almost all patients.

PREbiotics are a type of fiber that the human body cannot digest. They serve as food for PRObiotics, which are tiny living microorganisms, including bacteria and yeast. Both prebiotics and probiotics support the body in building and maintaining a healthy colony of bacteria/microorganisms, support the gut, and aid digestion. Prebiotics are present in fiber-rich foods. Probiotics occur in many fermented foods.

Melted ice cream is the worst! If ice cream melts (deforms), it's never going to be the same. Your feet are similar! Once your arches collapse, they have a hard time supporting your body. This is called plastic deformation, & custom orthotics can help!
