March Wellness Series: Why You Still Don’t Feel 100%
Week 3 – Hormones and Stress Load
This week in our Why You Still Don’t Feel 100% wellness series, we’re highlighting how supporting hormonal balance and reducing stress load can help your body function at its best.
Many people think hormones only relate to reproductive health, but hormones actually act as chemical messengers that regulate nearly every function in the body — including energy, sleep, metabolism, mood, and recovery.
One of the biggest factors that can disrupt hormonal balance is chronic stress.
When the body experiences ongoing stress — whether from work, lack of sleep, inflammation, physical strain, or emotional stress — it increases production of stress hormones like cortisol. While cortisol is important for short-term survival, consistently elevated levels can interfere with other hormonal systems.
Over time, this can lead to symptoms such as:
• Persistent fatigue
• Trouble sleeping or staying asleep
• Brain fog or difficulty concentrating
• Weight fluctuations
• Mood changes or irritability
• Slower recovery from exercise or injury
When the body is under prolonged stress, it prioritizes survival over repair, meaning healing, digestion, and hormone balance may take a back seat.
Ways to help support healthy hormone balance
✔ Prioritize consistent, quality sleep
✔ Support your body with balanced nutrition and hydration
✔ Include daily movement and recovery time
✔ Manage stress through breathing exercises or relaxation techniques
✔ Consider supportive therapies such as chiropractic care, PEMF, laser therapy, or other recovery treatments that help regulate the nervous system
Your body is constantly working to maintain balance — but when stress load becomes too high, it can affect how you feel day to day.
