I’m not sure who needs to hear this… but today is FRIDAY. It’s not Tuesday, it’s not Wednesday. 🥴 It’s Friday and tomorrow is Saturday and everything is going to be okay. ✨
If you’re still full of cheese 🧀 and sugar 🍪 from the holidays, that’s okay. Use this weekend as a reset. Eat some fresh food, get outside if you can, do some self care. 🧖 If you’re in the Omaha area, hunker down for Sunday snow we have coming our way. Or you can eat more cheese and sugar and ignore everything else I just said. You know, do what make you happy. 😆😘

I just walked around my house and gave all my plants a pep talk- I told them how beautiful they are, what a good job they are doing, I told them how much I like their leaves and to keep growing. 💪 I would like to remind you that as humans, we are basically house plants. 🌱 We need sunlight, we need water and we need a healthy environment to grow. And guess what… you are also doing a good job. You are also so strong and beautiful. I see you doing that hard work and you’re doing your best, because that’s all you can do. You are enough. ✨ You are loved. 💜 Go be the best house plant you can be. 🪴

Now go drink some water, find a window to soak up a little bit up sun, and keep going, you beautiful person.

Every morning before I drop my kids off at school I ask them, “Are we going to make it a good day?” And usually they respond with “yeah!” And I remind them “the day is what you make it.” ✨

Let’s make it a good day. 💜😊 Eat candy. Hug your people. Do something good for yourself. Make it a good day. ✌️

My kids and I had this sign created last year with our own personal family rules. We don’t follow these rules every day, but it hangs by the front door encouraging us to do so. 😆 My favorites are “only hit punching bags” and “you can be mad, but you can’t be mean”.

What are some of your family’s favorite, weird rules? The weirder, the better.

There’s nothing like opening your gratitude journal and realizing your mom used it as a scrap of paper for sandwich orders. 😂 To be fair, one of these sandwiches is DEFINITELY my order (can you guess which?) and also, I probably handed it to her to use as scrap paper. I must have been very hungry. 😋 Now, to leave the page as a funny reminder or tear it out? I was probably grateful for this sandwich once I got it. 🥪

I put this on the wall next to the kitchen table as a reminder for my kids as the school year starts. 🎒 But then it occurred to me, it’s a great reminder for all the humans. Now, get out there and make it a good day! You’ve got this.
