Zier Institute

Zier Institute Pediatric Occupational Therapy We follow a relationship-based, developmental approach to therapy. Contact us today to find out how we can help your child.

Zier Institute is a pediatric occupational therapy clinic focused on the treatment of children with autism, sensory integration disorders, ADD/ADHD and learning and emotional challenges. This approach is built on the belief that development occurs within the context of the parent-child relationship. From this point the child develops the capacity to self-regulate, share attention, be reciprocal, explore and learn.

Think play therapy is all just fun and games? Think again. Play is communication. Play is problem-solving. Play is emotional regulation in action. Play IS our strongest connection to children as their most authentic selves.

New blog post about the power of play!

Does school, sports, or social commitments have your child caught in a spin cycle? 🌪️ After a couple of months of school, it's common for kids to feel overwhelmed and struggle with their emotions. Heavy work activities are important for kids struggling with attention, arousal, and sensory processing.

Getting out of our heads and into our bodies helps everyone, regardless of age. Not only do swings, rock walls, and trampolines help improve balance, coordination, and body awareness, but they also enhance emotional regulation and sensory processing. Ask your therapist how heavy work activities could benefit your child!
