April is Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Month
April is recognized as Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness and support for people living with Parkinson’s disease and their families.
Parkinson’s disease is a neurological condition that affects movement, balance, and coordination. Common symptoms include tremors, stiffness, slow movement, and changes in speech or walking. Symptoms can look different from person to person, and they often change over time.
Awareness matters because early diagnosis and ongoing care can make a real difference. Learning the signs, understanding treatment options, and supporting research all help improve quality of life for those affected.
At Neurology Consultants of Nebraska, we work closely with patients living with Parkinson’s disease. Our care focuses on managing symptoms, supporting daily function, and helping patients and families feel informed and supported throughout their journey.
