If you care about wrinkles, you need to care about collagen.
Collagen is the structural protein that keeps skin firm, resilient, and smooth — and we begin losing it earlier than most people realize.
By your mid-20s, production gradually declines. UV exposure, inflammation, and lifestyle factors accelerate that loss, leading to fine lines, laxity, thinning skin, and changes in texture over time.
Protecting collagen isn’t optional — it’s foundational.
✔️ Daily broad-spectrum SPF
✔️ Prescription-strength retinoids when appropriate
✔️ Antioxidant support
✔️ Evidence-based in-office treatments that stimulate remodeling
Aging well is about preserving structure, not chasing trends.

These are the two most common types of skin cancer, and they’re often overlooked because they don’t always look serious at first.
Basal cell carcinoma is the most common and typically grows slowly. Squamous cell carcinoma is the second most common and can be more aggressive if left untreated.
The good news: when caught early, both have very high cure rates. That’s why it’s important to pay attention to spots that don’t heal, change, or keep coming back — and to see your dermatologist if something looks off.
Swipe through to learn what to look for and why early detection matters.

Basal cell carcinoma is common—but ignoring it isn’t the answer.
Dr. Joel explains what you need to know.

02/02/2026

That “spot” you’re ignoring could be more than skin deep.
Squamous cell carcinoma is the second most common type of skin cancer — and it often shows up as:
• A scaly or crusted patch
• A sore that won’t heal
• A rough, thickened area of skin
The good news? When caught early, it’s highly treatable.
That’s why regular skin checks — and paying attention to changes — matter.
If you ever notice something new, changing, or not healing, don’t wait. A dermatologist can evaluate it and guide next steps.
Early detection saves skin — and lives.
