For too long, Direct Support Professionals have shared a Standard Occupational Classification with roles that have some of the same responsibilities, but are different. With the re-introduction of the “Recognizing the Role of Direct Support Professionals Act,” there’s an opportunity to change that.

No one likes to wait, but more than 600,000 people across the U.S. with intellectual and developmental disabilities have no other choice.

Waiting lists for Medicaid funding for home- and community-based services are not a new issue. But, as some states have eliminated them—or are working to do so—new challenges may be on the horizon with federal funding cuts looming.

Learn more about waiting lists, why they exist and how you can take action in our latest blog.

At Mosaic, one of our core values is faithfulness. We honor our legacy by staying grounded in what matters and doing the right thing even when no one’s looking. Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as we continue his work through our mission to relentlessly pursue opportunities that empower people – all people.

What does a "good life" look like? The answer is always personal.

That’s why Mosaic provides personalized services tailored to each person’s specific dreams and goals. For Craig, a good life means a deep friendship with his Home Provider and the simple joy of staying connected through his church and weekly bingo games.

Christmas Eve is often a hubbub of activity with family and friends. Those celebrations highlight the hope and joy the holiday brings. We wish all a joyous celebration that reflects the love brought into the world with the birth of Jesus more than 2,000 years ago.

Our Story

Mosaic knows that international development of services for people with disabilities is best done in partnership. We’re big believers in accompaniment – we listen to, support and walk with local leaders and ministries to serve the world.

Mosaic’s international partnerships came to life in 1994 when faith leaders in Latvia approached us about providing coaching and other supports to a start-up organization supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Since then, we’ve helped partners start and fund work in three countries – Latvia, Romania and Tanzania.

Additionally, we’re called in to provide consultation to organizations with like-minded goals and values that need additional expertise. Mosaic is one of only 47 organizations worldwide recognized with Special Consultative Status from the United Nations for expertise in “Disability, Development and Rights.”

Entirely funded by donors, our international program changes lives around the world. Your gift supports health and happiness for people with disabilities.
